I think it's up for debate. A lot of people consider electronic music to be harder, more aggressive dance music, like trance, house, drum & bass, etc., while they consider dance to be mainstream edits, like what they play on The Beat or any terrestrial dance station in the country. In my mind, however, dance and electronic music are one and the same. To me, dance music covers the entire spectrum, from house to trance to breaks to jungle to freestyle and on and on. I think electronic music does the same and is not just limited to the harder sub-genres. Now, electronica is a different story. I think electronica is more of the stuff they play on Boombox, like drum & bass, jungle, big beat, maybe even some deeper trance cuts. Just my opinion.....
