Help Us Build the Sirius Backstage Knowledge Base!

Hello everybody,

Earlier this week, Sirius Backstage released the Knowledge Base. Similar to a wiki, and using the same software, the Knowledge Base relies on the community to build and support it. Any Backstage member can edit it, and anybody can read it.

Please help us build this by adding to existing pages and starting new ones that relate to Sirius, their radios, channels, DJs, etc. If you have used Wikipedia, the formatting is exactly the same. If you haven't, you can see how easy it is to add bold, italics, sections, etc. in the Tool Box, and you can practice in the Sandbox.

By building this information, it makes it easier for everybody to the visitor looking for information about the Starmate Replay to the longtime member trying to find out a programming note. To get to the Knowledge Base directly, it is simply http://www.siriusbackstage.com/kb. You can also click the 'help' icon at the top(soon to be replaced with a 'kb' icon).

Make sure it is the same login caps-wise as your SBS name. For example, I can log in as BenDee, but not bendee. Does realwx not work?

Actually, it shows you have logged in at some point in the past as Realwx, so try that.

Actually, you were right the first time BenDee, he needs to login using his exact SBS username, not Realwx.

By default MediaWiki capitalizes the first character of every page title and every username. You have to specifically turn this off (and understand the ramifications of doing so), so his username in the wiki probably is Realwx despite being realwx in the forum. This same confusing problem will apply to all users whose username starts with a lowercase letter.

I've had a Sirius programming wiki at DogstarRadio.com for a year now, and recently started a broader Sirius wiki at ******************, and at my day job started a wiki which now has well over 100,000 pages, so if you have any questions let me know...

It did log me in the first time but since then I've tried the two (realwx & Realwx) plus all the passwords I could remember and none of them worked.

I have no problems logging in. If anyone else has success or failure to login, please report so we can get a sense of whether or not realwx's problem is widespread.

I have the same problem. My SBS username is 'limegrass69'. When I sign in with that name, it says that there is no user 'Limegrass69'. It capitalizes my first letter even though my SBS username does not have any capital letters in it.

Login error:
There is no user by the name "The geek". Check your spelling, or create a new account.

No matter how I spell it.

It looks like there is a problem with underscores, according to DaJoker. We are working on rectifying the problem, and others. Thanks for your patience.

Also my wife (for some reason) has the default font size one step bigger than normal on this computer. With that setting the Login link is not even visible and the Knowledge Base text overlaps with some of the tabs. Changing the font size fixes this, but I think the CSS hacks you've done to put the Sirius BS header might need some work.

Are you sure our vBulletin accounts should work in MediaWiki? I am not familiar with the extension that connects the two (or even sure you are using it), but your wiki statistics page lists only 5 registered users, rather than the 20,000+ it should list if we were all there automatically.

We now have fixed the issues that folks with all lowercase usernames and those with underscores in their names have had. Please try to login again to make sure that this indeed has fixed the issues.

As for the css issue myquealer, I will look into that as well, thanks for pointing it out.
