I love Colorado, it is a great place. I love the Silverton, Ouray area. I have been there three times Jeepin. Beautiful country!

Damn, Colorado is quiet today! This is just a little disappointing. :\

I just love Colorado...not only the landscape and beauty, but the weather! I love the 4 seasons, but in the UP of Michigan and Minnesota, it gets a little extreme.

The Front Range (Fort Collins, Boulder, Denver, Colo Springs, Pueblo, etc...) has a dry, mild climate. The lack of humidity, especially in summer, is my favorite part. Sure, we can get the occasional blizzard, but the snow doesn't last more than a couple days. It's not unusual to get above 70 in Jan or Feb! And the Front Range is one of the sunniest areas in the nation (over 320 days of sun per year!)

I also love the culture here! Every Front Range city has a lot to enjoy. I've even discovered great things to do in cities like Greeley and Pueblo. Of course, LoDo in Denver is unmatched in my book! Pearl St in Boulder, and Old Town in Ft Collins rock too.

And CO is the REAL home to beer...the largest brewery in the nation (Coors in Golden), the largest Anheuser-Busch brewery and home to the famous Clydesdales (Budweiser in Ft Collins). And of course the BEST BEER AROUND (Fat Tire and New Belgium, Ft Collins).

Did I mention the Rockies, and skiing?

Well, it's toward the end of the day, but I couldn't miss this chance to brag on my home state, Colorado!!

Others have already posted plenty of pictures showing the immense natural beauty of our state,so I'll boast on some other points...

Don't let those jerks in Utah

(j/k, my neighbors to the west) fool you,we have the best snow and skiing in the country! (No kidding)

We also brew more beer per capita, than any other state in the union, thanks mostly to our friends at Coors and Anheuser-Busch (who both have breweries in Colorado) but also due to a large number of great microbreweries. We love beer so much, we elected a brewer the mayor of Denver!

Denver is also home to some of the best sports fans anywhere. If there's a major-league, we got a team! Perrenial powerhouses like the Avs, Crush and Broncos proudly call Colorado home as well as promising up-and-comers like the Nuggets, Rockies, Rapids, and Mammoth.

Bottom line, as RoscoRyan says it is "THE GREATEST STATE IN THE NATION"!

Well, better late than never.

I spent many a summer at an awesome camp just outside of Florissant, CO, along with time at Telluride. The land is beautiful, and the weather is great.

Fun fact: there is not a true South Park, CO town, but there is a South Park Mercantile off of 24 in Hartsel, about 65-70 miles west of Colorado Springs. The name comes from the region it is in called South Park, which is notoriously flat while being in the heart of the rocky mountains.

My favorite part about being out in CO was early August when we would all camp outside in the forest and watch the shooting stars from the meteor shower that time of year. Also the underground spring water was delicious, cold, and downright the best water I have ever tasted.

Telluride is truly a great place. If you ever go skiing, take lift 14 to the top of See Forever at 12,2. Nicest view I have ever seen.

Wow TX WJ, those pics are so amazing.

Jeep and Colorado go hand in hand. I remember my friend driving my through the mountains in their Jeep Wrangler.

We're thinking about returning to Colorado this coming summer.

Where do you do this "Jeep'en"? I remember I saw some down in Ouray part of the state.
What exactly do you do, just rent a jeep and ride out on some remote mountain roads most people never see? Or is more driving fast over big rocks and through mud bogs like they do in the south? please explain.

I want to try it out, but would my wife enjoy it?

Yes colorado seems like quite the place. I'm in Westminster, CO starting yesterday for a week and a half, I've never been to CO before this. Extremely beautiful so far, and I'm not complaining about it being almost 60 today, it was 18 degrees when I left the UP of Michigan.

I'm excited to see the mountains, go to colorado springs, go downtown, I've always only heard good things about Denver and Colorado in general.

Gosh, I can remember when people complained that SBS was overrun with Coloradoans. Those days are apparently gone.

Oh well, better odds for me to win Taylor's prize.
