Default Activate w/out Credit Card Using Prepaid Program Card?

Although I have credit cards, I was wondering if you can activate Sirius service by only using their prepaid programming gift cards?

Blumpkin, (love the name - Howard would be proud!)

I believe you do still need a credit card for activation. The reason they require this is because even though you are using a prepaid programming gift card, they have an early termination fee of $75.00 if you cancel or end a subscription plan, so they need some form of payment on file to bill you in case you cancel.

I could be wrong about this, but from everything I looked into and everything sirius.com indicates, it does indeed look like they require a credit card to activate a radio.

There's been some talk about this outfit: http://www.prepaidsirius.com/

They take money orders or paypal.. They give you some sort of activation code that you pass on when you call Sirius customer care. You can start a new subscription or top up an existing one.

I guess it's one option..... I've never used it so I don't know if there are any problems doing it this way..... I subscribe yearly by credit card..

The Sirius Store now stocks these as well:

Can't say anything about prepaidsirius.com since I've never used them, but The Sirius Store is very well respected around here.
