voodoo, I have heard many great things about those Pansonic tuners, so I am not sure there is as much difference between them and the older Kenwood 901 in regards to 2nd generation stuff that is out now.
I have a co-worker in my office that has the Panasonic that she got on the Friends and Family deal, she says it gets GREAT reception and in our community we don't have repeaters either, but we do have lots of big ole huge trees.
The truth is I was very happy with my Kenwood 901 in regards to reception, but I just felt like the Kenwood H2A and Audiovox Shuttle gave me a bit better reception in some area that I noticed dropped out before with the 901. So this is why I say it gave me improved reception.
Without hesitation if I was buying a head unit right now, I'd go on and get that Panasonic even though its a 1st generation, cause I love that nice display on that Panasonic Head Unit.
Certainly if they do upgrade the Panasonic SIRIUS tuner at some point it will be backwards compatible and will work with that head unit.
