Default Artist and Song Title at the same time?

I have a Kenwood MP3 / CD head unit and I can get one of the following.

Station
Song
Artist

Am I crazy or did my old Kenwood in my other Jeep scroll both the name and the song, together. Not one at a time.

Thanks

If you have both which radio do you have?

No, you are not crazy... seems that Kenwood screwed up in a major way on the 2003 models and the mid and low end units only scroll either the artist, song title or show category, stream name or clock. But will not combine any of them together.

Older units would indeed do this.... strange isn't it.

Yeah that is a SWEET head unit that you've got. It wasn't out yet when I got mine or I surely would have considered it. I wish Panasonic would update their tuner though!

DABSter,

I've got a Kenwood with the 902 tuner. I also like the look of the Panasonic, and am thinking of getting one of those for my other car.

Is there much of a diference between the Panasonic first generation and Kenwood second generation tuners? (I am especially concerened about dropouts, as I live in an area without repeaters).

Thanks for the info.

voodoo, I have heard many great things about those Pansonic tuners, so I am not sure there is as much difference between them and the older Kenwood 901 in regards to 2nd generation stuff that is out now.

I have a co-worker in my office that has the Panasonic that she got on the Friends and Family deal, she says it gets GREAT reception and in our community we don't have repeaters either, but we do have lots of big ole huge trees.

The truth is I was very happy with my Kenwood 901 in regards to reception, but I just felt like the Kenwood H2A and Audiovox Shuttle gave me a bit better reception in some area that I noticed dropped out before with the 901. So this is why I say it gave me improved reception.

Without hesitation if I was buying a head unit right now, I'd go on and get that Panasonic even though its a 1st generation, cause I love that nice display on that Panasonic Head Unit. Certainly if they do upgrade the Panasonic SIRIUS tuner at some point it will be backwards compatible and will work with that head unit.

If I switch to a Panasonic head unit, do I need a new tuner also??? Or can I use the Kenwood tuner?

I would like to have the Ghost unit, because I have a Jeep Wrangler and would like the hidden face when it is off.

Yes, you would. Kenwood headunits work with Kenwood tuners, etc.

You could however get a Universal kit and use it on any headunit, since it will use an FM modulator or AUX/RCA output.
