Just got my first satellite radio, an Audiovox PNP3/car kit bundle and the boombox from CircuitCity.com.

It successfully updated channels, then activated.
If I keep the antenna in the same spot sometimes antenna aiming mode displays fluctuation of Satellite signal between 7 segments and 3 segments and the unit works. But after a while it will fluctuate between 3 segments and 0 segments and begin displaying "Aquiring Signal" and be silent. I get no Terrestrial Signal at my location.
I can undersand if I was driving a car how I might loose signal from time to time. But the antenna is stationary. How can I sometimes get 7 segments and other times get 0 segments?
I have tried as many spots as possible. But 7 Sat segments is the best I can get.
Also the unit gets extremely hot. Audiovox tech support told me it is expected to get 150 degrees but it seems hotter than that. I am concerned it could start a fire. Although it will be handy come breakfast time
And the right channel doesn't work

so it appears the boombox is at least defective and will have to be returned.
Do you think the radio is also defective or is this how satellite radios perform?

for your help!
