Default Can I paint my antenna?

Can I paint my Sirius antenna? I have a white car and would like the antenna to blend in to the roof. Will a white paint job damage the antenna or hurt reception.

Though I can't give you a definite answer, what I can tell you is that the chief operating officer of the company I work for has Sirius installed in both of his cars. On the car that has some black trim, he left the Sirius antenna "natural," so to speak. On his other car he had the Sirius antenna painted to match the car. Since he did this at least a few weeks ago and hasn't replaced the antenna with an unpainted one, I'd think that means he hasn't had any problems with the painted antenna. (To be sure, however, I'll ask him on Monday.)

As long as the paint has no lead or metallic particles in it, you can paint the antenna without a problem.

I have noticed on the new Hondas the XM antennas are body colored and I think that is a nice feature! (Wonder why GM doesn't put nicer antennas on their products- small body colored ones look nice!) It sould look good to get your Sirius one painted too.

I recommend using paint that is found in hobby shops to paint model cars, R/C cars and planes.

Seems like the factory antennas are painted, guess a lil spray paint wont hurt.

Luckily my Terk antenna is black & silver. Matches my two-tone truck nicely..
