Default New RV-magnadyne built in sirius-STATIC

Bought my new RV 4 months ago, love it. I was already a sirius sub before so the fact the RV had sirius prewired made me stoked, been working great till this morning. All channels have some static, my FM is static free, my CD is and my ipod/aux is static free. Only the sirius.
This is hardwired to the deck (magnadyne), there is a sirius box/unit sort of thing up in the cabinet (same kinda deal I put in my toyota truck) and all connections seem snug....there were no NEW powered up gizmos in my rig to give it feedback/static.
I am stumped and bummed, leaving on a trip tomm and the static noise is unbearable....

any tips?
thanks

I'm thinking you may need some inline noise filter. Is it consistently staticy or does it increase when you accelerate?

same static, no matter what.
It is static when parked, motor off.
I plugged in a different antenna, same static, so its not the antenna (which I didnt think anyways).
I am guessing the tuner itself is bad/going bad-only problem is I leave wed. for a 3000 mile road trip and can not find this magnadyne sirius tuner anywhere! And my dealer is worthless as well. I would just go buy a new alpine, kenwood deck, etc but the factory installed wiring that was done so well on the RV is way to snug and cables wont slide through.
Magnadyne, NOT hot product.

I wish I could help out but Magnadyne won't even allow Non-RV sellers to buy those tuners. I'd have to start selling RVs before we were able to buy them. But in terms of the quality of the Tuner I'd lean on it being a simple fix or an install issue prior to the unit being poor quality.

Thanks for reply.

I have checked the back of radio deck connection, is snug, firm, etc...checked the tuners plug as well=firm. Satellite antenna jack is firm too.
It could be a bad cable from deck to tuner, but do not have one to try.
Everything has been working fine for 3 months since I bought RV, now static, so bummed.

Like I said, I could install a new deck and sirius tuner pretty quickly in the coach as the dash is open underneath, but like I said-the cable from deck to tuner is REALLY firm up and through the coach, I can not fish it out, etc and I think if I got a kenwood tuner, alpine, etc... its a different style cable???

If the same cable magnadyne uses is the same as other brands, I will just get a new deck today and tuner and install, but I think its a propreitary plug??
this is the magnadyne cable
http://www.magnadyne.com/index.cfm?M...Web_CatID=4263

kinda looks like a svideo type thing?

In my pickup truck I installed an alpine deck with sirius tuner, it uses their "AI NET" deal, and I can not remember if the cable is this style? I do remember my alpine tuner has a POWER plug in back, the magnadyne does not???

If I do not get sirius before I leave, I will go mental.

Thanks again

If the RV is still under warranty.

I'd make the dealer replace the whole system.

It is...but spoken like someone who does not own an RV

I am sure they will replace whatever I need, problem anything in the RV business is a S_L_O_W process. I am leaving tuesday night...was looking for a solution now.

I bought a sirius sch1 pod today to try it out and see if my magnadyne tuner is bad, hooked it up and deck did not even recognize sirius, so I used the minidin cable that my magnadyne uses, thinking maybe MY cable is bad, but it did not even recognize sirius with this other minidin cable!, plugged all original crap back in and sirius works, but STILL static of course as I did not make any changes.

If only I could find this magnadyne piece of garbage tuner somewhere and try that out to see if thats my problem.

Is it a HISS or like a CRACKLING ?
Is the noise in both speakers?

Sounds like because the wires are taught ,the cable broke its ground.I'd say it IS the cable.
Did you try and wiggle the cable with it ON and no volume???
Try and rapp the radio to see if it stops for a sec? <<I know sounds caveman like......But try -

Your right I have never owned an RV.

The other mini-din cable might work if....
The connector is exactaly the same and,
the wires inside are connected to the same pins.

Could always get a inexpensive PnP like the INV or Stratus just to get buy.

Did you try wiggling the wires off the back of the radio while it was on?

Did you try and rapp the radio since its accessible from the bottom?
