Default SIRIUS Controller Resigns

Sirius Controller Edward Weber Jr. resigned today to serve as Chief Financial Officer of Major League Baseball Advanced Media, as reported by Sirius in a filing with the SEC (Security & Exchange Commission). David Frear, Sirius' CFO, will take on the role of interim controller until a new one is found. This is a similar field to what Frear does now, basically certifying expense reports and managing Sirius' cash flow.

XM has another 10 years left on their contract with them.

Doubtful. Advanced media, as I understand, is largely in charge of the online operations of MLB, like MLB.TV, Gameday Audio, and the like.

But is this an exclusive contract? Fox has both Sirius and XM.

The MLB contract might even have minimum numbers of subscribers to maintain it exclusive offer.

It would be in MLB best interest to have Both XM and Sirius to have a larger listening base.

They might even split the schedule like college football.

I guess we will see.

Sirius only has an exclusive on the NFL logo as the Official Satellite Radio provider, but XM could technically work something out to carry NFL games if they wanted, but it wouldn't be cost effective because they wouldn't be able to use the NFL shield.
