Well, anyway, I seem to be going with HD-DVD since Blu-ray seems to be failing due to it being expensive.

Well, if you have to buy a new piece of expensive equipment to play these types of discs..id say neither.

Regular dvd's are fine for me..when I use them. Ive been getting my movies the cheap way and then streaming them from my PC to the Xbox360.

JIF is better then Skippy. I should know. I eat a lot of peanut butter. It's easy to keep in the truck, as long as the bread doesn't go bad.

I OD'd on PB one time. It wasn't pretty...

HD-DVD is my choice. Sony is killing Blu-Ray with the PS3. They committed to putting a Blu-Ray player in every PS3 before they could ramp up production for the blue laser diode. This kept PS3 numbers low and the cost of other Blu-Ray players high.

Aside from that, Sony has pissed me off too many times in the last few years for me to buy any of their products. They screwed up EverQuest, they sold me a PC with a laundry list of problems and they put rootkits on their CDs.

HD-DVD is cheap to produce and has the porn industry behind it. The biggest obstacles to mainstream HD-DVD adoption are the doubts about a format war and the specter of downloads replacing the VHS/DVD purchase/rental market models.

I'm going to say neither until there is a standard. DVDs are fine by me now and I have an upconvert player, so all is well.

Besides, with Sony's track record when it comes to media formats, it's almost predictable who will more than likely win.
