LG to Introduce the LG G3, Its New Flagship Smartphone, on May 27

LG on Tuesday confirmed that the LG G3 will launch earlier than anticipated this year, saying in its Q1 2014 earnings report that the new high-end smartphone will help the company boost its Q2 numbers. In an interview with reporters in South Korea, LG further acknowledged that the company will launch the handset by the end of May. A day later, LG has officially announced a special media event scheduled for May 27, when it’ll likely unveil the handset, possibly alongside its first Android Wear smartwatch.

LG’s France-based arm confirmed on Tuesday that the already official G Watch will launch in June in the country, selling for €199.

The invitation has a short message, a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson, teasing new G-branded products without specifically naming the G3 or the G Watch. “To be simple is to be Great” the quote says, with the G clearly highlighted.

The fact that LG already confirmed the name and launch date for the G3 is a clear indication that the May 27 event will be mostly about LG’s future flagship handset. Furthermore, the fact that the company will host the event in six cities simultaneously, including San Francisco, New York, and London, suggests that it has big plans for the immediate future.

The G3 will likely be one of the most important Galaxy S5 rivals, with recent leaks claiming the phone will have at least one better feature than Samsung’s top 2014 handset, a high-resolution 2K display. Furthermore, The Verge speculates that the event invite seems to indicate that the G3 may have a metal case, which would be another major selling point for the handset — the invitation’s message appears to be written on a dark-brushed aluminum surface.

I checked one out at BB when I ordered my Note. It's a very nice phone and the screen is gorgeous. I don't think it's that big but my S4 has a 5inch screen so I'm kinda used to it.

I think you'll like it meme

I hope so. I should really think these things through first. It has almost 3 times as many pixels as a 13" Macbook Air.

I always go to BB or the Verizon store to check out phones before I get a new one. I try to read up on them and check out youtube reviews. I'm not one of those guys that has to always have the top of the line phone so waiting every two years is cool with me. I'm pretty sure your the same way. We just wait till its time to upgrade.

Check out some of the videos on youtube. It's got some real good reviews from some tech sites. If you don't like it you should be able to return it. When that screen fires up I bet you will really dig it. Let us know man.

You don't like that screen? My GS4 has a nice 1080p screen but the LG G3 and the Note 4 have the best I have ever seen.

The screen is great.

I like the size & the fact there are no buttons on the top or sides.

The camera I don't like. My S3 was better even tho you couldn't snap a pic while on a call.

The touch is not sensitive enough. When I go to type something, I really have to make sure I tape the space bar with a little more force or else mywordswillruntogether.

I can't download my Monopoly game from the Play Store because it's not compatible with my G3.

I finally got this phone. It's big and fast, but it feels very cheap. I miss my Droid Razr HD's Kevlar back. But typing on El Gigi 3 is very pleasant. The screen is big enough for a large keyboard, complete with a number row at the top. And it's very fast compared to my Droid.

I updated last Wednesday.
It wasn't too bad. A little jumpy the first day, and the battery life was terrible the first day too. A few shortcuts disappeared, an odd app or two disappeared too. I cleared the cache just to be safe. Something I read said that the battery life takes a few days to adjust itself. Aparantly 5.0 has some updated energy management software that takes some time to adjust to your apps and use patterns. :dunno1

More than anything I'm annoyed with Verizon and their constant need to plaster their farking name all over everything. My old notification tray at the top of the lock screen would show an icon for each type of notification. (Text, calendar, each email account, Tapatalk) now the fuggin thing says Verizon until I unlock it. I can't make that go away. Sumsabitches........

Apart from that, it's been ok. Do a little housekeeping and ride it out a little bit.
Generally, it's been better than the last several iOS updates. I'm not used to that being the case.

I've had it for about a week and a few days. I also hate the Verizon notification bullshit. Now my battery life has gotten better. Samsung and Google have got great battery life down pat. Also when your listening to music and hit the lock screen the pause and song forward and song back disappeared. That's annoying too.

I haven't had any problems so far. I was scared to update. After my iPad mini updates I didn't know what to think.

Not happy with Lollipop. It's gonna have to go. Battery life is in the tank. Battery life goes backwards if it's plugged in & charging, and I'm browsing.

Next time I'm home I'm gonna download all my pics that haven't gone to my SD card, all my pics on my SD card, & then reset the phone.

This is downright comical

If you have to go that far to deal with it, you might as well trying the factory reset then reinstall Lolipop. I've seen where that helps some folks.
If it still sucks, you can always roll back to Kit Kat later if it still sucks.

I got Lollipop yesterday. So far the battery life is great. The battery usage page says I can go 31 hours on a single charge.

Semi, when you go to the battery usage page, what are the top battery users?
