France arrested on drug charges

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP)—A grandson of NASCAR founder Bill France has been arrested on drug charges.

According to a Daytona Beach police report, J.C. France was arrested early Thursday morning on charges of possession of narcotics and driving under the influence. The report states that an officer found a small bag containing a “white cakelike substance” during a traffic stop.

France is the son of NASCAR board member Jim France and a driver in NASCAR’s Grand-Am Series. According to a statement from NASCAR spokesman Ramsey Poston, he has been indefinitely suspended from all competition.

Poston says France is being treated “like any other competitor.”

France posted $4,500 bond and was released from Volusia County jail on Thursday.

At least they are treating him like any other driver so far

"Grand-Am has issued a penalty notice and suspended J.C. indefinitely from all competition for actions detrimental to racing," NASCAR spokeman Ramsey Poston said in a statement. "The penalty is not appealable. J.C. is being treated like any other competitor. His suspension is immediate and indefinite."

J.C. France should get the Nobel Peace prize. Why not? That would make as much sense as giving it to Obama. (what a joke!)

Anywho, I don't think this story will be around long. Unless J.C. sues or something like that.

Was this a subject on TMD? I dont think Mike and Pete's employers would be very happy with them discussing it, and frankly I cant see them having anything to say on it. Much like when Brian France crashed his Jaguar drunk in Daytona one night, and the Nascar media swpet that under the rug very nicely.
