OK, my Altec Lansing Beatback 903's arrived about 2 hours ago.. I let them charge for ~ 1 hour before I paired it with my iphone 3Gs. It paired without any issues. The BB 903's look very cool and very well built. I was able to manipulate them into both ears without too much trouble. Powering the BB 903's "on/off" is a cinch by depressing the power on/off button located on the left earpiece. I've used them for 1 song, (listening to Slacker), and I must say that my initial impression is that the 903's are a home run! They fit great, (almost doesn't feel like I'm wearing anything), I even tried shaking my head around to see if that would jar the earpieces loose but they held in place as they should. The sound on these blow away any wired earbud headset that I have ever used. I tried it with bass boost on and off and the sound is just incredible. Again, I haven't been using these for very long and the BIG test for me will be in 2 day's, (Thursday), when I try them at my gym. I also haven't tried the headset while "in call". I did try the pause feature which works perfectly. Part of the reason that I purchased the BB 903's over the Jaybird's was that the BB 903's are actually manufactured by Plantronics. I also own the Plantronics Voyager Pro BT Headset and that has been a complete winner for me in terms of a business BT Headset almost exclusively while in my car. *Coincidentally, NewEgg just raised the price on the 903's from $56 to $ 66 with free shipping. Showing out of stock at NewEgg, in stock at Amazon.

MRPACS:

You are pimp for cranking out a quick, quasi-review of these.

Questions:

How is the bass? I'm not a bass head but with thin bass, I think music sounds really tinny.
What is the weight? I know you said comfortable but are they heavy?
How is the range? Can you put your player in your pocket and use the headphones with no problem?

God, I am SOOOO torn now between bluetooth headphones or the Sennheiser PX100's.

I've been using these for 10years. They still work great and now I wear them when I mow the lawn as they work much better than just cranking Ipod buds and blasting out your ears!

Tinny they are not. Not at all as a matter of fact. The have the fullest sound that I've ever heard in an earbud. Not sure what the exact weight of these are but I am not even aware of their physical prescence. A "liberating" feeling is how I can best describe it. I'm sure I'm going to elicit some strange looks while wearing These suckers in the gym. I wear my phone on a beltclip and have not had any dropouts as of yet. I even placed my iPhone on a kitchen countertop while still wearing the 903's while I prepared dinner with zero dropouts. I'll test it later tonight on disctance before it drops out and report back.

I did a bit more testing of the BB 903's and they are so freaking good. They sound AMAZING. It sounds as if the music is happening between my ears....in my head almost. I never got that from standard wired earbuds. I'M PUMPED! I just hope they last longer than my wired ones normally do. I walked away from my iphone a good 15-20 feet and the BT signal was rock solid; no drop outs whatsoever. I was shocked that it didn't drop out. I tried them on a call as well and they worked perfectly. I haven't quite figured out how to skip ahead, (song skip). Not sure if it would work with Slacker.

I just had a bad thought; I kind of have a feeling that the wire that goes in back of my head may interfere with a flat or incline bench. Hmmm........I hope I'm wrong.

I thought about this too and this has been my hesitation on any sort of "banded" phone. I'm betting you'll be ok though because of the way the band looks to lay. I don't know, I'm just excited about the phones becasue I think you've sold me on these bad boys.

Oh---one more question. How good are they at noise isolating or noise cancelling or whatever you want to call it. I don't need SILENCE but it would be nice to be able to cut the grass with these bad boys and not have to crank it up to drown out the lawnmower.

Very good question. I honestly can't hear ANYTHING when I have these on which I *almost* think is a bad thing, lol.
