I received my two new pairs of headphones today. I bought a pair of Sennheiser cx300's to replace the ones that broke for $19.99 and while shopping on amazon I picked up the JBUD J's for $9.95==I figured for that price, I wouldn't be able to say no.
I was excited to get the Jbuds due to the mostly positive reviews and boy, was I disappointed. No matter which one of the three cushions I used, I could NOT get a good seal and the sound was very light. Bass was NOT there due to not being able to get a good seal. They aren't very comfy either after only about 30 minutes on the treadmill and I could feel them alot in my ears.
Just to make sure I wasn't crazy, I switched and put in the Sennheisers. Nope, I'm not crazy, the Sennheisers ROCK and the JBUDS certainly do not. They are probably better that most other $10 headphones but they're not worth much more than that.
On a different note, I KNOW there are better headphones than the Sennheiser CX300's but I can't imagine there are better one's for the price. For under 20 bucks these things are amazing and sound more like $80 phones. Since mine usually end up buried in a gym bag, a suitcase or the console of my car, I can't imagine spending more money on headphones because I know they'll end up broken, eventually.
The Jbuds will be my spare pair--at best. Tp be fair to Jbud, I did buy they're LOWEST end pair. They do make a much more expensive pair, the JBUD Q's and they are supposed to be great. As with anything, you get what you pay for and with the J's I got a 9 dollar pair of back up headphones.
