I wonder if it actually add anything to the Droid experience that will make it worth the doing.

Seems to be more of a buy online music service. I have my full iTunes library already uploaded to the Google Music Service. I am just not interested in buying music these days. I prefer music services that give you all you can cache and or listen to at a flat monthly rate.

Hopefully though the will be able to do some kind of Match service so it doesn't take 3 days to upload your library. ITunes Match took me about 1 hour to setup because it matched 90 + percent of my library not requiring much uploading.

You know DAB I'm the same way. I would rather pay for a subscription service too. I think the last CD I bought was the newest Metallica album a few years ago. I haven't bought an MP3 in a while either.

I'm going to try Rdio. I trust your judgment on it. You've tried them all.

I probably averaged a couple of iTunes album/single purchases a month when I was able. So I haven't quit buying music completely, it would just have to be something I really want. Slacker and Spotify seem to be filling the need lately.

From everything I've read you have to have a facebook account to use Spotify. Is that really true? I would love to try it but I'm not going to join facebook. Thanks for any info you can give Jon.

Apparently you do need a Facebook account now. It used to not be that way. Weird!

From Spotify's support site! I can't recommend Spotify knowing this. I had not realized this because my account was pre Facebook take-over.

Hey Guys thanks for your question, Unfortunately you will need a Facebook account to access Spotify from now on, unless you already have an account set up.

This does not stop you creating the Facebook account adding nothing to it and making it totally private as the Facebook account does not have to be actively used.

    Hi all,

We wanted to follow up on this thread some more.

To us, this integration is all about creating an amazing new world of music discovery. As most of our users are already social and have already connected to Facebook, it seemed logical to integrate Spotify and Facebook logins. We already use Facebook as part of our backend to power our social features and by adopting Facebook’s login, we've created a simple and seamless social experience.

From this week, all new Spotify users will need to have a Facebook account to join Spotify. Think of it as like a virtual 'passport', designed to make the experience smoother and easier, with one less username and password to remember. You don't need to connect to Facebook and if you do decide to, you can always control what you share and don't share by changing your Spotify settings from the Preferences menu at any time.

We're constantly trying new things, always looking for feedback and we're always going to listen to our users, making changes based on this feedback wherever we can.

    Andres

I look forward to trying Google Music, but wow is uploading songs a slow process!
I'll be lucky to have 6000 songs uploaded by New Year's at the present pace.

What iPhone app to use for listening to this?

Yeah, when I put my desktop to sleep last night it said "87 or about 20,000 songs uploaded". That made me laugh. I hope it doesn't flag me with my ISP.
