Back to SatRad with an Edge!

After leaving XM what seems like many years ago (It was really only like 4), then joining Sirius for a year while I owned a Jeep with it pre-installed (that has since been traded), I have purchased a new satellite radio receiver today. A "Grand Re-opening" of a remodeled nearby Best Buy...

What most of us have been waiting for!!!!!!

FYI... To get NASCAR Radio online, you need to have their "premier package" which is only available if you have a physical radio (and most likely a Sirius radio at that). So they've refunded my money, and I'll go back to Slacker again. There is NOTHING on the Sirius website that says that you...

What most of us have been waiting for!!!!!!

I don't have a satellite receiver (at this point; used to, twice now, in the past)... I'm internet-only, and there was no XM or Sirius option when I signed up for the internet only option. I know that there's a difference between the satellite content for the two. I didn't get a chance to call...

What most of us have been waiting for!!!!!!

So does anyone know when it will be available? No hardware receiver for me, but when I paid for Sirius Online last night, NASCAR radio doesn't seem to be an option for me to listen to. On the web player, it shows up but is grayed out. I'll be quickly cancelling if you need to have a satellite...

Slacker Radio (Continues to Lag Behind Pandora)

Slacker has posted on Twitter and Facebook that they have submitted it to the App Store... so hopefully it'll be less than a week, assuming Apple approves it on its first attempt!

    Logitech Squeezebox Info

It's definitely an investment, but something else I've done brings a computer back into the equation (at least until I save up a bit to invest in something else)... As part of the desktop software, there's a Java application that allows your computer to emulate a Squeezebox receiver, so what you...

    Logitech Squeezebox Info

EDIT to the first post... I am mistaken regarding the infrared transmitter in the controller... It is used for the older Squeezebox model and the Transporter device. The Squeezebox Boom and Squeezebox Duet Receiver work solely based on the network connections.

    Logitech Squeezebox Info

NOW... that's the general info. What it can do with Slacker is completely SWEET, for something not developed by Slacker! My experience here is with the Duet (which is essentially a bundle of the receiver and controller; two devices that work together over the network, though the controller can...

    Logitech Squeezebox Info

Ok... so Logitech's Squeezebox Boom and Duet have been touted as two great ways to bring Slacker into your home audio environment without being tied to the computer. But I'll be honest... after having bought the Squeezebox Duet and spending all this afternoon playing with it, this is one amazing...

Slacker channel most like The Coffeehouse

Well, Singer-Songwriters is a nice station, but coming from the XM side of things, it's more comparable to The Loft than it is to XM Cafe. I've created my own take on what used to be XM Cafe... I think it's got a pretty close sound, though some minor tweaking here and there might be needed...

Thinking about getting a G2, have a couple of questions

It's a max of 500 songs per channel... but when you consider that at 100 songs per channel (the starting amount; increased per-channel as you listen to those channels more than the others) you have 4-5 hours of music per channel (depending on song length; averaged around 3 minutes per song), 500...

how do you rewind on Slacker?

Songs saved via the web player can be synced to the portable... see the Portable tab > Transfer Saved Songs... Songs saved on the portable don't seem to sync back to the web player though.

Slacker Adds 5 Christmas Holiday Channels

Make note... if you add these stations to your Favorites, you can listen to them ANYTIME! Of course, my hope is that their Seasonal category will hold them year-round, so you can get your Christmas in July groove on too, if you so desire. :)

I just got my new Slacker G2 Portable Player…

The exact reason I cancelled my XM. The writing's on the wall... just a few more days before I have a feeling others will be making the same change I have already made... :) The great thing about Slacker is that the playlist is as deep or shallow as you want it to be! Add or remove artists...

I just got my new Slacker G2 Portable Player…

Yep SatelliteRadioRules, I'm a Mac guy too... my G2 is all WiFi... Slacker does have a Southern Rock station already... you might try fine-tuning that, or use it as a base for your own if you want to tweak it more than it will let you otherwise. :)
