Does anyone still use Skype regularly anymore?

Is there some alternative that everyone has flocked to and I didn't get the memo?

Still have it as our 'house phone'. Got a skype telephone set up with a skypeout number. Works nicely.

POTS lines are all the rage these days. A POTS line works great, even when the power is out and the internet is down, the sound quality is amazing! (Plain Old Telephone Service). Cellular telephones generally work quite well too, though the sound quality suffers somewhat.

I know couple of people who uses Skype. So it's not dead.

There is also gizmo (Gizmo5 - Make free internet calls from your mobile phone and computer - Home) which is similar. I use it for SIP trunk testing. Works great.

I use Skype everyday, and MagicJack for phone service (much cheaper and better than Vonage).
