Take a look at the URL of my download links, bud. They're coming DIRECTLY FROM Microsoft.

I didn't download the 64-bit version, but the file size for the 32-bit version should be 2,618,793,984 bytes (2.43 GB). You said you had 1.01 GB, so it sounds to me that your download got corrupted. That doesn't mean that my source is bad.

... and sorry MM, I don't know what to do about your situation. Then again, you're trying to install this on an Apple machine. That's my guess as to why you're not able to install it. There may be a workaround, though. I'm just not sure.

Really guys, this should be simple! Burn the ISO using the built-in Windows feature (or Nero). Boot with disc, and install.

(and make sure you are using good media to burn this image)

No biggie H3x, no offense was intended. I got the files & have burned them both so I'm all good.

Perhaps its supposed to be a Vista that doesn't suck.

I will stick with XP as long as I can.

Well I don't find that Vista sucks and I've been using it for several months. Most that say that shit haven't really ever used Vista and if they did they have crap hardware.

We just started buying machines with Vista at the office in the last month or two, but 99% of our machines are XP Pro. We've had no issues with Vista on the newer machines.

Our laptop came with Vista. It takes about 5 times the time to load than my XP machine and I bring up more shit at boot than the laptop. The laptop is newer and more powerful than my XP machine. It doesn't crash or anything but it is a bloated pig of an OS hence my use of the term 'sucks'.

I don't know that isn't my experience at all, so I can't speak to your experience, but that doesn't mean it sucks. I have no crashes and I find everything and anything I've wanted to run it will do so. There are many tweaks for Vista that folks generally don't run which will speed it up. Also it all depends on how much memory and video that you have. My machines run very well, there is nothing for me to complain about. But I can see why some would say it is bloated, many said that about XP too when it was released.

No worries, you didn't offend me. I was just pointing out that the ISO's were coming from Microsoft.
