I wanna try this bad, but I want to know if anyone's had driver troubles after installing it. Is it fully compatible with Vista drivers? I don't want to install it and wind up with a useless computer... laptops are fussy when it comes to their drivers, you know.

I have it installed on my laptop. I have had 0 driver issues as a matter of fact, I ran Driver Max before I installed W7 and it showed there were driver updates for me. After I installed W7 and ran Driver Max ALL my drivers were up to date. I am really lovin' W7 so far.

I have a copy running on my laptop as well. No drivers missing and everything was up-to-date.

I had also tried installing it on a Desktop machine that is older than the laptop and there were no drivers missing either and it was all up-to-date.

Get the driver for the network card/wireless from manufacturer and install. Then run Windows Update to get both network card and graphics card up-to-date.

I am enjoying Windows 7 on my Mac.

I plan on reinstalling Vista on my PC laptop following the instructions from leth so I can start anew.

Then I will upgrade to 7 on that.

Sounds like a fun weekend project.

Again, thanks to all of you for the great info in this thread.

Trying to get the drivers now, but having a hard time finding exactly what I need for vista, driverwise. I lost my original windows install that came with the laptop, and the recovery partition, so thats where the drivers were all stored before, but now all I have ubuntu installed currently. Looking into what the drivers are that I need. I've done this before with other computers, but this one seems a bit harder.

I'm running a HP DV2000, AMD Turion64x2, came with vista ultimate, but..like I said, not anymore. 4 gigs of ram, though.

I finally got Windows 7 installed on my Notebook. I have two hard drive so I removed my Vista Drive and installed my old drive and used it to run Windows 7 on. It setup with no issues whatsoever. It even ran the Windows Update which downloaded all the drivers for my hardware. So, once that restart happened I was totally up and running at 100%.

I discovered that McAfee's doesn't support Windows 7 in terms of anti virius? What are you guys using?

I am going to mess around with it a little more. The task and tray bar I find very bland (No Color) compared to Vista. But so far so good!
