Default Best Headphones?

I have a huge issue with headphones. I still cannot find a pair that do not hurt my ears after a while of usage.

I have tried the Apple iPod headphones, the V-Moda Remix, the V-Moda Vibe Gun Metals, and a few other.

I think I might need a good pair of over the ear headphones. I am using a cheap pair of Sony over the ear, and after 45 minutes my ears hurt again.

What do you suggest?

I still like the Apple iPod headphones from time to time. But some strange reasons I'm starting to hear some kind of static or one of the ears things just goes out for some strange reason. So for now I am using the Stiletto headphones that look like the iPod headphones not those damn painphones! But so far, I haven't had any problems and they fill comfortable.

Also couple of years a coworker of mine, bought those Bose headphones and he let me tried them out. They feel very comfortable and the sound came out fantastic, till I flip over to my heavy metal and they sounded awful. So I guess Bose speakers works fine with all kind of music, but heavy metal?

I like the Ultimate Ears Triple.fi in ear monitors.

They are really awesome. The in ear monitors take some getting used to, but they give you a bunch of tips to mess around with to try and get a good fit.

They totally isolate you so all you hear is your music. You can't hear a person talking standing next to you if you have them in right. I prefer that to the active noise canceling models like the Bose when a travel. Plus, they are really small. I have a pair of Bose, and I use them now and then when I want a change, but I prefer the sound quality of the Ultimate Ears.

I use the SkullCandy iPhone Full Metal Jacket in ears. I have tried other more expensive brands, but with their comfort foam tips, the FMJ's are incredibly comfortable and sound reproduction is incredible. A full 11mm driver in an in-ear headphone. If you don't need the mic, then the regular FMJ's come in both 9mm and 11mm versions.

I used to use over the ear headphones. But then I switched to earbuds and after a week I prefer them since they are less intrucive. I seem to manage to destroy headphones at an amazing rate. I therefore won't invest more than $40 in a pair. I am currently using some G-CUBE headphones. Sound pretty good and are reasonably comfortable once you get used to them. They actually completely plug the ears so it makes it sound different than ones that don't until you acclemate to them. Now it sounds better. I am not sure how long these will last .. they are about 1 month old now.

JVC Marshmellows 8-12 hrs a day. Lose them? Break them? Back to Walmart for another $25 pair. Good bass, overall sound, durable and comfortable.
