Default iTunes Backup

For you iPhone, iPad and iPod users which iTunes backup service do you prefer to use?

For me, I'm kinda all over the place. I like backpacking to my computer, but I also want to use the iCloud. But what gets annoying is some of my data like contacts, calender dates becomes duplicated. Does that happen to you guys?

Huh? I just copy my songs to Blu-ray for backups. That's all I have in iTunes is songs.

I have iTunes match, so my entire collection is in the cloud.

I also have it on my iMac.

I have a 1 TB external Drive that serves as my Time Machine that backs up my iMac every hour.

I also have iCloud.

I "back up" my iPad and iPhone to my Mac using iTunes.

I use iCloud for my contacts and calendar with no issues.

Maybe you have it checked in iTunes to sync when you connect. In the info tab there should be nothing checked.

Connect your iPhone to see.

I use iMatch but then I also use a 3-stage backup process for all computers and external drives in my house.

iCloud back up for iOS devices is awesome. The microphone stopped working on my old iPad 2 and the apple store gave me a new one and after entering my iCloud information on the new iPad while in the store it downloaded all my settings and it was exactly like my old iPad within a few minutes except it took quite a while longer to download all the apps. So much faster and easier than restoring from a backup in iTunes on my computer.

As for my content, I'm a bit of a backup freak given my IT background. I have a time capsule for my mac that backups up hourly along with a separate 2TB USB drive that it backs up to daily. I also have an online backup through crashplan. I also have iTunes Match so I should be safe if something ever happens to my computer.

I have had that checked off to sync with my yahoo address book. So I just unchecked that and hopefully now, the duplicate data will be over. Thanks MM!
