This is not how the Super Rich act. Do you see any other celeb going to public theatres?

Give me a break.

I know you're busting balls, but it *is* peculiar, considering he hates doing it AND he can get a screener copy, even if the studio insists on sending a rep over to bring the movie back, even though the movie says "HOWARD STERN COPY" on the bottom every few minutes.

FWIW, Elvis Presley would rent an entire theater and go at 3 AM in order to be avoided. (OTOH, Howard hasn't been awake at 3 AM in probably 30 years.)

That would make more sense, even though all we ever see is Ronnie. Ronnie is there to coordinate transportation and the bodyguards and gets the "head of security for the show/Howard" out of necessity, even though he barely comes up to Howard's waist.

I kind of doubt he actually yelled out at anyone, I dunno.

I screamed at a group of people behind me during one of the Spider-Man movies, you could literally not hear the dialogue from the movie these guys were so loud and I just reached by breaking point. Turns out they were all super-jacked and threatened me and my friends. It was a little dicey & tense walking out of the theater but they ended up being all talk. I don't think it's a lot to ask to STFU during a movie as a common courtesy to others.

At 6'-4" and confrontational, a couple of 15 year old kids can be intimidated easily. If they looked sketch enough to be packing I just would have gotten the manager. I kicked a guys seat once that kept texting in front of me. I'm like the Charles Bronson / Death Wish vigilante of the movie theater. "Tell me kid......Do you believe in Jesus? Cus if you send one more text....... You're going to meet him."

Completely agree with the entire above. I remember a long time ago, Robin reading a story about someone who was assaulted for playing the "shush game".

It's not that damn hard to:
1) Turn the phone on vibrate if you're expecting an urgent call or turn it off entirely.

2) Close your damn yap.

3) Stop with the slurping of the cup. When it's gone, it's gone. I don't want to hear that damn suction of those two last drops amongst all that ice.

Other etiquette would be:

1) Get there early. I know it sucks, but you don't want to be late and trip over 16 knees on your way to the seat.

...which brings me to my next point:

2) Move in to the middle of the row so you don't get your knees tripped over.

3) If you do happen to get there late, stand in the corner of the dark theater for a minute and let your eyes adjust to the dark BEFORE you attempt to travel the stairs and the aisle.

The dumbest rule of theaters (outside the "R" rating) is that they actually ALLOW age 6 and under in R-rated movies before 6 PM... WHY?

Here's how I'd do it.

AA -- All Ages
M1 -- This movie recommended for 6 and up (approximate age of first graders)
M5 -- This movie recommended for 5th grade and up
M9 -- This movie recommended for 9th grade and up
M17 -- This movie recommended for age 17 and up

Obviously, if they look 13 or 14, they'd be denied access. Same thing with a parent who tries to go in to an M17 movie with a young child. Deny them access if they look TOO young. (Obviously, this would probably encourage 14 y/o to go to other theaters, but it would mean that people who wanted to actually enjoy a movie would know which theaters would enforce.)

Get rid of the damn "parents must go in with you" rule that I wonder how many theaters actually enforce. My brother was 16, but couldn't buy an R-rated ticket, even though his friends were 17...so they just bought tickets to a PG-13 movie (and gave THEM the money) and then got into an R-rated movie.

...Then he went home and probably looked up far, far, far worse on the internet, for all I knew.

Anyway, I digress. The movie rating system is completely obsolete in the USA.

I went to a preview of Step Brothers. (Frikin funny movie. Especially uncut.)
They wouldn't let you bring your phone into the theater AT ALL. They gave people claim checks for them.

There were a couple of guys wandering the side aisles with night vision goggles looking for people recording.

They should do that more often. They can stick a camera up in the ceiling, and if they see a phone light up, they should kick the texter out.

Send an usher through like they did in the old days with a flashlight. If he hears talking or sushing, kick the bastard out.

It won't take long if people start to see people getting kicked out to learn.

I thought I saw something a couple of years ago where some theaters in (I think) New York were testing a kind of a pager system. Some people in the audience would get a remote that had a couple of buttons on it that they could push for things like talkers, audio issues, focus, or whatever. I guess it didn't catch on.

I go to a theater maybe twice a year. Each time my wife is the loudest person there; I have to get her to shut her mouth. Not that she is loud in an obnoxious way but she is a soprano singer (well accomplished at that) so she has a very pronounce high pitched laugh..very...ummm...musical... I enjoy the drive-in simply due to the cost. $5 or $7 a car for two movies, three on holiday weekends. It has a full pizza shop with burgers, popcorn, etc... at normal prices. It is basically a restaurant with a drive-in during the summer. There is also a playground for the kids. Families often have a picnic waiting for the movie to start. The bad thing is nothing over PG-13 is shown due to the family atmosphere.

Maybe. There are 3 or 4 drive-ins within an hour of me. Maybe 5 if I go over 2 mountains...still an hour drive.

I've just always grown-up with that and local ice cream shops open from very early spring to very late fall. They have huge sales at the end of the season if ice cream is left over. Generally it is the richest, best stuff you can get (but can be expensive). Then of course you have the chicken BBQ season which we are currently in. You can have one about every weekend for several months. Always great food for a good cause.

People generally get drunk during the first movie then sober-up during the 2nd, just in time to drive home. My parents admitted to doing that when they took us 30+ years ago.
