Default Howard dines with Bubba & Brent 04/02/12

I caught a bit of Bubba mentioning he and Brent had dinner with Howard in some private room of a restaurant last night in Tampa; a few interesting tidbits from Bubba and Brent's mouths:

- "Howard would quit SiriusXM tomorrow if he could and only do AGT."
- "We think we'll work together again on the next thing after his contract runs out in 3 years."

Bubba had Tucker Carlson on the phone at one point & when Howard was brought up, Tucker said something like, "Doesn't Howard only work 1 day a week now?" and Bubba corrected him and said 3. I just thought the perceptio of a 1-day work week was funny.

It's too bad Howard reneg'ed on going on Bubba's show because he is "too tired from AGT", it would have given Bubba a nice boost and would have been great fun, I was really looking forward to it.

Some other tidbits:

"Sirius is messing with Howard 100x worse than there were with Bubba".
As stated before, Bubba's return to Sirius is unlikely.

Bubba actually picked up the check.

How can you compare Howard and Bubba? Howard makes 100s of millions and is bitching that the extra $25,000,000 he got for the merger is not enough.. I thought Bubba made almost nothing compared to Howard.

Sirius is messing with Howard? I thought Mel Karmizon was the greatest boss of all time...

Bubba would have LOVED if his entire show would have been paid a portion of that $25,000,000.

And I don't think Mel is messing with Howard. Remember, there's an entire Board of Directors who is in charge of various things. While Mel may have Howard's back, it appears as if he could be overruled by the Board.

It also was interesting to hear that Howard and Bubba *could* be together again some day, just not at SiriusXM. .... Howard doing mid-days (maybe 2-3 times per week) on RadioIO?

At RadioIO, he WOULD have a lot more freedom. He could do middays 2-3 days per week, or even a 10-12 shift four days a week. If he'd enter that arrangment and do something which could rival the 2008 shows, I think most of us would be happy.

I have no inside information but the CEO hires the lawyers to defend against lawsuits. Karmizon has an absolute duty of loyalty to the company, not to Howard. Plus I think he already said that he thought the first contract was too generous. You know Howard once he gets a "hair across his ass" (anyone use that term any more?). He will find fault with everything. His unhappiness that he did not get the credit for all XM subscribers (I defy anyone to read the contract and conclude that it is "black and white" in Howard's favor) was inflamed when Liberty Media made a killing after it put its money at risk for Sirius stock and saved Sirius from bankrupcy. Your really think Sirius would mess with Howard intentionally so it can get trashed every day even worse than it is now?
