Default SiriusXM killed Subsoniq

News broke right before the show was suppose to come on. No show last night. Seems like they pulled it yesterday at the last minutes. I don't know who's in charge over this if it's that fat head Reggie Hawkins then it's another mistake he did. This guy has single handle fucked up the best hip hop choice in music. I would go on and list every fuck up he's done over the past 4 years but I don't think I would be under the character limit. (Last one is having Pete Rock DJ a show at the same time as Premo wtf)
Keep e-mailing Sirius and demand the show is returned!

I do remember this show when I was a subscriber. It was on XMU (the OLD XMU) for a while, and even as a minor Hip-Hop fan I thought it was quite good, and you were exposed to a lot of stuff that you didn't hear among the Diddys and Lil' Waynes on regular radio. Shame its gone. Another casuality of Mel Karmazins' programming philosophy apparently.

Subsoniq is a 2-3 hour block of underground Hip-Hop. Some of these artist would never be played on Hip Hop Nation or Shade 45.

It was an XM show and during the late days of XM it was even a push for Subsoniq to become it's own channel.

After the merger, Leo G brought the Subsoniq guys over to Hip Hop Nation and they had a 2 hour block of time on Sunday night.

When Leo G got canned, whoever was in charge moved the show to Tuesdays on Backspin but given an extra hour.

Everything was cool because the show has paid tributes to different non-underground hip hop legends and had sit down interviews with artist new on the scene.

Last night was suppose to be a 3 hour tribute to the late Big Pun but that didn't even make the airwaves.

The people that ran the show did a lot more than any of the other shows on the hip hop channels such as posting a real time feed of what artist and track being played and taking ideas for the next show via Facebook.

This is a very old practice of Sirius ONLY. When something needs to be cut Sirius goes to the R&B/Hip-Hop genre and start cutting away. Remember soon as the merger was approved Sirius tried to kill Backspin and replace it with the ABBA channel? Also I just started listening to the show and was diggin' it.
