As far as this terrestrial area is concerned, IMHO it's neutral territory. I come here expecting to give as good as I get, and everyone else should too. It ain't hurting anyone, and sometimes a good hearty does of ridicule hurled at those who've earned it is mighty good for the soul.

Either that or I'm really "angry."

Ok, I still will stick up for them by saying this. They have fans on Satellite and lots of people enjoy them. They should be on Satellite Radio because of this. How much money they get should be based on how many Satellite listeners they have.

If people don't like them, they don't have to listen.

I'll stick up for them, and I hate them. Their fans should be able to come to a neutral place like DRC and post to their hearts delight in The Virus forum. Knock yourselves out (all 3 of you

It's bad enough to have to wade through the Howard haters who can't seem to stop listening, but the crappy little "just on the edge" posts by admitted O&A trolls should be purged for stupidity alone.

You selling Slacker Portable's over there yet? I know it seems that XM received the brunt of the damage post-merger, at least based on the higher number of upset XM fan postings vs Sirius ones. There's a 17 page thread at the official Slacker forum filled with former XM subs, and I recognize many of the screen names from xmfan and xm411.

Sorry but for me the "merger" hasn't brought anything good overall. What's that? They're still in business? Just barely. I'd like to see Dish or Directv try and pull channels overnight without warning. Competition keeps them from doing it unlike with sat radio.

Nope, not selling Slackers. We currently don't sell products we can't fully support. Slacker doesn't have a phone number that I'm aware of that people can call for help. When a retailer has trouble with a product a number of customers will literally flip out if they have to email someone, considering lots of people believe it or not still don't use email and some don't have computers.

You definitely seem pretty bitter about the merger and I think the online threads do represent some sentiment about the situation but aren't the end all be all of people. Online forums are a very specific segment of customers and fans. A very hardcore segment of them.

So are you really hoping that O&A get dropped on Satellite Radio so you can give up your subscription? That doesn't seem like something a fan would hope for.

I've noticed that half the mystique of being a pppest is that the aura of "always winning in the end" seems to give geeks and no life having tools hope for a victory of some sort over society. Even if it is kicking a homeless person's food or laughing at the rape of a public official, any anti-social act, no matter how low, seems a victory (at least in the minds of ppests). Could it be that this final humiliating defeat, which decidedly negates every "O&A always win in the end" statement ever uttered, has finally shattered that mystique, at least for some of the less delusional?

Suffer humilating defeat and try to deflect it by bringing up Howard. Rinse, lather, repeat.

And it wasn't like they had to build a radio network from scratch. Howard already did that. The listeners that didn't follow to Sirius were waiting to be entertained. Apparently, they're still waiting...

You just don't get it, do you? They got chewed out for a few negative Howard comments a week ago - called into the offices and told they weren't being team players. Artie says "aren't they working with us now" and Howard says "yea unfortunately" and has no problem talking shit. The problem isn't necessarily the shit talking so much as the double standard concerning it. He can dish it out but he needs suits to handle it when it's thrown back.

And no, it's not that I want O&A off satellite - it's the stern muppets on orbitcast and everywhere else saying it's gonna happen. Let it happen - good riddance to the failed experiment of satellite radio. I'll put the money towards a Slacker Plus sub for my wife's Slacker G2.

O&A weren't enough to carry failing K-Rock so they are failures. Is Howard a failure for not being able to carry Sirius? They just narrowly avoided bankruptcy and have they ever turned a profit? Also, another difference between O&A and Howard - they actually put the Stern fans on the air and let them talk. Meanwhile, Howard's got fake paid callers going on about how great Howard TV is.

When the "merger" happened O&A played nice and attempted to at least act like they were on the same team, but I think those days are over. I'm obviously never going to win here and it's going to be a pointless back and forth rehashing the same arguments on both sides over and over so I'll just leave it at that.
