Watch out Kathy Lee, there's a new company in Korea treating it's workforce like crap - Sirius! The group in this article wants the company, and Howard, to investigate and comment on this gross injustice to the hardworking people building your S50s.

I was wondering why the reception on my radio was always crappy. Now, I realize it's because Dum Yung Ho and her 9 year-old brother, Wun Dum Dik, must have had a bad day at the factory, and missed a few weld spots! Here's the link:

The Dark Side of Sirius Satellite Radio - MarketWatch

When reached for comment, Howard's agent, Don Buchwald said "Howard doesn't know anything about this."

Mel Karmazin couldn't be reached, as he was out promoting his new book, "How I turned 2 Million in stock into $2,643 in Cash."

I can see Uranus from here
Stories like this are silly. Do you own a PC, TV or any electronic device? Do you know the working conditions of the people that made it? To argue that Sirius is responsible for the working conditions a subcontractor puts their employees through is stupid.

If they're going to ship American jobs over seas, they BETTER be using sweat shops. At least we get the stuff even cheaper then.

You bet I do. I remember Howard talking about how horrid the conditions were for the poor, underage workers who slaved away in the sweat factories that produced Kathie Lee's clothing line a while back.

Perhaps there are threads over at the Best Buy forums discussing other electronics-related slave labor issues, but I'm focusing on the conditions at Sirius, as described in the article.

Just because the conditions are known, and accepted by unaffected Americans, doesn't make it right. I'm just trying to help.

How is Stern accused of worker abuse? Also, how is Sirius accused? Neither of them are abusing their workers. Granted a company Sirius as a contract with is abusing employees but it has nothing to do with Howard. I guess you just needed an excuse to create a thread in this section of the forum.

DLM, do you like anything, anything at all, about the show in its current state? I'm just curious, if you really hate Stern as much as you let on, why you continue to listen everyday? You must like something, right?

I didn't write the article, I just posted and commented on it. If you read it, you would know that the author points the finger at Sirius for contracting slave labor, and requests that the face of Sirius - Howard, comment on it.

I'm not saying I believe it's accurate. I'm sure it's some sort of misunderstanding. The young girl I saw pictured being stretchered out of the Korean factory was probably just playing to the camera in hopes of being considered for the next Miss Howard Stern contest.

You didn't write the article but you did create the thread title. Nowhere in that article did it accuse Sirius or Stern of abuse so that is a huge leap on your part.

Funny thing though, the name of the post you wrote was "Sirius and Stern accused of worker abuse?" even though Howard was never accused of anything.

You obviously knew what the article said before posting so why wasn't your post entitled, "Sirius accused of of worker abuse, Howard asked to comment."

While I could comment, I'll just let John Lennon comment for me. After all, he was the walrus:

I'm just sitting here watching the wheels
Go round and round
I really love to watch them roll
No longer riding on the merry-go-round
I just had to let it go.

Instant karmas gonna get you
Gonna knock you right on the head
