Default PS VITA arrives in two weeks? Anyone buying?

Been really getting BORED with tablet games and IPOD games and I've been craving a new gadget so I'm strongly considering a PS VITA when they come out.

$249.99 is pretty expensive but for what you get, I think it is pretty good. Anyway, the games are really good with GREAT graphics and they are actual games, not just tablet or IOS games where you tap one side of the screen for a few minutes.

Anyone thinking about it?

The ONLY thing holding me back is the classic Technology trap--especially with SONY--you know they will lower the price within two to three months and then 3 months after that come out with a thinner, lighter version with double the battery life.---I know, I know, that is the classic trap but with the SPEED in which improvements are made these days, I am considering holding off.

But that $100.00 best buy card is burning a whole in my pocket.

had a chance to demo this bad boy in Best Buy today and yep, came home and pre-ordered it.

Best thing about it--with remote play you can sync it to your PS3, then turn off your PS3 and finish playing that level on your PS VITA from up to 2 miles away. INSANE. The graphics looked amazing, the unit was REALLY light and the screen is gorgeous. The ONLY sucky thing is SONY using a PROPRIETARY memory card that (you guessed it) is WAY overpriced.

Anyway, looking forward to getting my hands on this monster on 2/22.

I picked up the First Edition Bundle on Wednesday along with wipEout 2048 and a 32GB memory card. It's a pretty sweet system! It's like having a mini PS3 in the palm of your hands. Like Vargas said, the OLED screen is gorgeous!

I played Little Deviants for a few minutes and the rear touch pad will take some getting used to. As for wipEout 2048...that game is amazing! I've loved the wipEout series ever since the first on on the original PlayStation and this one doesn't disappoint.

The one game I'm looking forward to getting is Warrior's Lair (aka Ruin from last year's E3). It kind of looks like a Diablo clone, but the cross play feature between the Vita and PS3 make it more appealing.

I'm a Nintendo Fanboy, but the Vita looks cool for sure. However, I just bought a 3ds and it is keeping me busy, plus there is no PS vita game I really am feeling like I need to play. if I want a game on the PS vita I can likely play one similar on my xbox or ps3 at a friends house. the 3ds looks fantastic and the games are good. I got Mariokart, Mario 3d land, and a bunch of downloaded eshop games. Also, the metal gear and Resident evil demos show the system can churn out good looking games, and the 3d really makes it look sweet.

The PS Vita has that back panel touchpad, I could see myself getting one if a good game comes out that utitilizes that.

Not wanting to pay ATT any more than I already do, I skipped the 3G version and pre-ordered the $249 Wi=Fi version. I will primarily play this at home and when I travel in hotels, all that provide free wifi.

Questions for you since you have one: Is Wipeout 2048 just a racing game? Never played one. Also, how is the conectivity to the PSN over wifi? Do ANY games yet allow for REMOTE PLAY (when you can stop playing on your PS3 and then keep playing the same game on your Vita?)

UPDATE:

Just cancelled my preorder cuz we apparenlty really needed new fucking window blinds and new fucking closet doors. Goddamn shit.

Now now, Mr. Potty-mouth! Gotta please the wife first!

Sorry to hear you won't be able to get it now. Maybe your wife will surprise you and get it for you.

As for your questions, the WipEout series is a futuristic racing game, but you can use power ups like shooting the other ships and shielding yourself from shots in order to gain an advantage.

Here's a video of the game to show you what it's like:

As for PSN connectivity over wi-fi, it's pretty good. It automatically connects to your PSN account when the unit is powered on.

Other than Warrior's Lair, the only other games I see coming out in the next few weeks that offer cloud saves are MLB 12: The Show and MotorStorm RC. In the next few months I'm sure we will see more games that will offer that feature.

I actually have tears in my eyes from laughing so hard at this sentance. Really hilarious.

Games look sweet. Wipeout looks chaotic but awesome.

Wipeout XL was a great PS1 game. The soundtrack had Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, Fluke, Underworld and Future Sound of London. Plus there were Red Bull ads all over the course, long before you could get Red Bull in the states.

Agree!

Imagine the good will (and better sales) if they had used SD or MicroSD.
