Lee Coulter
Today 12:00 pm ET
Hear an encore of Lee Coulter playing selections from his self-titled debut album! Raised in Australia, Lee grew up influenced by his parents’ taste in music, with The Beatles and Michael Jackson playing around the house, and was particularly inspired by Simon and Garfunkel. Lee decided in high school to start audio recording for other artists, teaching himself how to program on his computer with virtually no experience. A few years later, he began to write and perform his own songs, playing a number of shows around the country, primarily near his home in Southern California. Lee says his ultimate goals in music are simple: to make people feel good, and to impress his wife. (20 min) > Rebroadcast: Tomorrow 12:00 am ET
Keb Mo
Thurs 10/6 12:00 pm ET
Music veteran and three-time Grammy-winner Keb Mo stops by to play songs off his first studio album in more than five years, The Reflection. Keb taught himself guitar as a teen, then went on to play the steel drums and bass, influenced by the blues and gospel music of the early '70s. At 21, he was featured in an R&B group, until he finally released his debut album by 1980. Sixteen years later, he won his first Grammy after recording an album alongside both Jackson Browne and Bonnie Raitt. His newest album took more than two years to record and includes collaborations with India Arie and Dave Koz. (20 min) > Rebroadcast: Fri 10/7 12:00 am ET
Liz Longley
Thurs 10/13 12:00 pm ET
We welcome folk singer Liz Longley, a recent Berklee College of Music graduate who has opened for notable musicians including Amos Lee and Paula Cole. When she was only 16, as a birthday present from her parents, Liz recorded at a local studio, which earned the attention of Grammy Award-winning producers. She went on to pursue her education, and soon won first prize in the BMI John Lennon Scholarship competition out of more than 9,000 entries. John Mayer has even called her music “just gorgeous.” (20 min) > Rebroadcast: Fri 10/14 12:00 am ET
